A radio antenna installer's tool box just wouldn't be complete without the Laird X-ACT. The X-ACT cuts a precise hole in the vehicle mounting surface to allow the installation of industry standard Laird 3/8" permanent hole mounts. This innovative, one piece monolithic body design is machined from a single piece of hardened steel. It will not disassemble on the job!

The X-ACT features a replaceable self-centering pilot drill bit (HS38DB). The X-ACT also features a shallow depth limit that will prevent damage to the underlying headliner, yet it is deep enough to cut through thicker aluminum surfaces encountered on utility vehicles and ambulances. The X-ACT is designed for a 3/8" drill chuck and is nickel plated to guard the tool against corrosion. The X-ACT may also be used in other applications where a 3/8" hole is needed and depth is critical. Available in 3/4" also!

Features:

  • Bold new monolithic design machine from a single piece of tool steel.
  • Hole saw design limits the hole depth to prevent damage to the underlying headliner but will cut through the thicker. aluminum roof of some ambulances or utility vehicles.
  • Invaluable in other applications where depth is crucial.
  • Designed for 3/8" chuck or larger electrical drill.
  • Exclusive self centering drill bit restricts walking of saw.
  • Should scores paint for a better ground.
  • All components are hardened for a long life.

For Best Performance of the Saw:

  • Be sure to chuck the hole saw properly on the flats.
  • Run the 3/4" hole saw at a maximum of 460RPM. Do not run the hole saw too fast - it will cut faster at a lower speed than at high speed.
  • Use a good grade of cutting oil to assure a cleaner cut and longer blade life. Operation without cutting oil will cause premature blade failure.
  • Apply sufficient feed pressure when teeth are in contact with work.
  • Hold the saw perpendicular to the surface of material being cut.
  • Do not try to saw holes at an angle to the work surface. When the teeth of the blade do not contact the work evenly, the hole saw will be twisted out of round and will break.
  • Remember - always wear safety glasses when using this tool!
