The Andrew PCS Band 21 dBi Mag Grid Antenna, single-polarized, 1.7–2.1 GHz main benefit over our other antennas is its ability to focus its signal in one direction. This antenna is designed for use on stationary objects such as buildings. If this antenna is not aimed correctly it will lose its effectiveness.
The Mag Grid Antenna series offers a commercial grade product at an exceptionally competitive price. The die cast reflector is fabricated using an automated injection molding process which ensures consistency in performance. The high-grade magnesium alloy material is lightweight, does not rust, and memorizes the antenna’s parabolic curve to maintain its shape over time. The result is the only low cost terrestrial microwave antenna sufficiently durable to survive changing climate conditions.
The patented grid reflector design provides field reliability and ease of handling and installation. No secondary coating is required to prevent rust and corrosion. Breakdown packaging saves freight costs, and optional factory assembly is available.
The output coaxial connector is an N-Female type which provides low signal loss. The antenna's impedance is 50.
Pipe mount hardware is included. The pipe mount is adjustable to accommodate pipes from 1" to 2".
Since the Andrew Parabolic Grid (Mag Grid Antenna) covers the 17000MHz-2100MHz PCS and Euro/Asian DCS frequency it will only work with Sprint PCS, T-Mobile or other carriers in PCS and Euro/Asian DCS markets or ones operating in the PCS frequency bands. It is not compatible with 800MHz/850MHz Cellular or Nextel/iDEN.
Cable
The antenna includes no cable. For a short run of 20' you can use our 20' RG-58 coax extension which has the appropriate connections for the Grid Antenna. wpsantennas.com has a full cable facility for custom cables in any grade from RG-58 to LMR-600. Choose from our pre-terminated cable assemblies or contact us for a custom cable quote. Our in-house facility allows us to assemble a custom length cable with very little lead time.
For longer runs, we suggest using one of the below lengths of Ultra Low Loss LMR-400 Cable. This cable is fairly stiff so if you plan on connecting the Parabolic Grid directly to your phone with an antenna adapter we suggest you also include an 5' RG-58 extension. The below cables may also be connected together using the N-Female to N-Female barrel connector.
The primary difference between RG-58 and LMR-400 is the dB signal loss. RG-58 loses approximately 12dB/100' while LMR-400 loses about 4dB/100' (which is a big difference).
LMR-400 Extensions Cables:
A phone adapter cable is required to connect Andrew Grid antennas to your phone.
